You can raise money for your birthday, at your wedding, through a fun run, or by hosting an event. Check out our How It Works section for some easy fundraising ideas.
If you can’t find what you’re after, complete an Application Form and someone in our team will get in touch with you within five business days.
There is no minimum target. Whether you end up raising a small or large amount, every little bit helps! Your support makes a world of difference and we’re so grateful for your faithful generosity!
As the fundraiser, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and promoting your event. While we may not be directly involved, when you apply to fundraise with us, one of our team members will be in touch to introduce themselves as a point-of-contact for you, to answer any questions and support you throughout the process.
If your fundraising event incurs costs, please refer to our Fundraising Guidelines and fill out our Budget, Income and Expenditure Form. Baptist World Aid Australia cannot pay for expenses, however providing they’re well documented and do not exceed 40% of your fundraising total, you may be able to deduct them from the proceeds of your event.
I am organising an event that involves children / that children will be attending. What do I need to consider?
Baptist World Aid Australia is a Child Safe organisation and has a Child Safe Policy in place. We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and to their protection from abuse and exploitation in all aspects of our operations. If your fundraising event or activity involves children under 18 years of age, please discuss this with us in advance of your event by contacting our team at: [email protected]. If your activity includes children, we’ll require you to ensure our Child Safe Code of Conduct is implemented at all times during the activity.
Can people who donate to my fundraising page receive a tax-deductible receipt?
If you have an online fundraising page, and your donors support your fundraiser through your page, they automatically receive a receipt from Baptist World Aid Australia. The receipt will be sent to the email address the donation was made under. Tax-deductibility can be claimed for gifts of $2 or more. But to receive the tax-deduction, the donor must not have received anything in return—therefore ticket sales, auction purchases, and entry fees are not tax-deductible.
When should I provide the funds raised to Baptist World Aid?
All money raised during your fundraising activity must be returned to Baptist World Aid within 14 days of its completion. If your fundraising activity is going to occur over a number of weeks, we recommend you set-up an online fundraising page or, where this is not practical, that the funds raised be sent to our office every two weeks.
Our Banking Details Form provides more information on how to return the funds you’ve raised.
