Thanks to Child Sponsorship, Olivia’s parents have learned new trades and gained farming skills, and her community now has a school where children are happy, learning and growing.
When you Sponsor through Baptist World Aid you’ll do more than help one child; you’ll help transform their whole world.

We’re committed to protecting the safety, privacy and dignity of the children and young people in our programs. Baptist World Aid does not display the faces of children awaiting Sponsorship online. After becoming a Sponsor you’ll receive photographs of, and updates on, the child you’re supporting. To find out more, click here. |
When she was a baby, Olivia’s parents, Betty and Samuel, survived mostly on what they could grow themselves, spending long days farming just to get by.
It was the same across their whole community in Uganda—every family putting their all into just surviving with almost no time left for anything else.
And with no local school, the children in the community were on track for a life of poverty, just like their parents.
But today, Olivia goes to school and her parents are earning fair wages from diversified income. The story is changing, and not just for Betty, Samuel and Olivia, but for their whole community because of Child Sponsorship.
When you become a Sponsor, you’re changing more than one child’s life. Through Baptist World Aid’s Sponsorship model, the parents, siblings and neighbours of children also gain access to programs that address the root causes of poverty.
Our research shows that each Sponsorship means 35 people’s lives are changed through accessing programs such as workshops, support groups and agricultural training.
Will you become a Sponsor today and do so much more than help one child?
Through letters and photos, you’ll learn about their world and tell them about yours. You’ll have the opportunity to pray for them, their family and their community.
Your monthly support means parents, grandparents and siblings can access vocational skills training, schooling and other programs that help families achieve long-term stability.
You’ll be investing in local communities as they design and coordinate pathways out of poverty like schooling, agricultural training, vocational opportunities for young people and so much more.
