What are the tax benefits of donating via Workplace Giving?
One of the key benefits of Workplace Giving is that you receive an immediate tax refund, rather than having to wait to claim it at the end of financial year (EOFY). Your refund for each donation is included in your pay.
Your Workplace Giving donations come out of your pre-tax income, reducing your taxable income amount.
You don’t need to keep record of your Workplace Giving donations for tax time—your employer will include your annual donation amount on your PAYG Payment Summary.
Will I receive tax receipts for my Workplace Giving?
You’ll receive a non-tax-deductible receipt in acknowledgement of your donation (dependent on your receipting preferences). Receipts issued for Workplace Giving are non-deductible because you will have already received the tax benefit and aren’t able to claim any further refund in your tax return.
You do not need to keep record of your receipts for tax time. Your employer will provide you with your annual donation amount on your PAYG Payment Summary at the EOFY. You can use this to record your Workplace Giving donation total in the necessary field on your tax return.
What does my employer need to do to set up my Workplace Giving donations?

I’m already a Regular Giver (or Child Sponsor) with Baptist World Aid, can I transfer it over to Workplace Giving?
Currently we’re only able to transfer Better World Ambassador regular giving arrangements. Unfortunately, we’re not able to process Child Sponsorships through Workplace Giving. If you’d like to change your regular gift and become a Better World Ambassador, please contact our Supporter Engagement Team at [email protected] or 1300 789 991.
Can I adjust my Workplace Giving donations after they’ve been set up?
You can adjust your Workplace Giving donations directly with your employer. If you do make any changes, please let us know, so we can have your giving arrangement up to date on our end. You can do this by logging into My Account online or contacting our team at [email protected] or 1300 789 991.
You’ll need to set up your donations again with your new employer as the registration won’t follow you to your new job. Please contact us if you have any issues or you would like your regular giving to be managed directly by us, outside of the Workplace Giving program. We hope you’ll continue to partner with us as we work towards a better world for all.
