Australians spend around $9.77 billion AUD each year on clothes made by workers, including children, at risk of forced labour. In 2024, we sent over 220,000 tonnes of clothing to landfill.

This needs to change.

Good intentions from some companies aren’t enough; we need to hold all companies to account through legislation. Ask the Australian Government to raise the ethical standards of Australia’s fashion industry by:

  • Banning the import of goods made with forced or child labour
  • Mandating a scheme that reduces textile waste and overproduction.
