Your Support Is Saving Lives And Calming Fears

My name is Ruth and I live in Kenya. When we first heard of this disease which was killing people in the world, I was very worried as a mother, because I knew in my mind that we will all fall suit given our situation. I had no hope of living. I thought our life had come to an end.

But then an organisation which has had been very key in walking with us to achieve quality lives, came to us with words of hope. With your support they taught us how to protect ourselves from the worldwide pandemic, through short message services and even awareness through locally trained community volunteers. They also educated us on health matters by using the public address system and through household visits when it was safe to do so.

My family were given mouth masks and hand soap. And they taught us how to wash our hands and correctly wear the masks.

With all the information and help we received from ADS Eastern, thanks to your support, I feel like things have normalised. We are keeping safe and everyone in my family washes his or her hands. I no longer feel that we are alone, because there are people walking on this journey with me, together.

Thank You for Helping To Feed Hungry Families

My name is Kaushila and I am 37 years old. I live in a very remote area of Nepal with four family members. Most people living in my community are poor and vulnerable to disaster.

Before coronavirus, my family’s primary income source was through daily labour work… but after the nationwide lockdown, that primary income source was cut off. We could not go out. Which means we could not work.

My family had very little savings, but with what we had, I was able to manage to feed everyone for two weeks. Initially, I thought that the lockdown would be short lived… but as it continued on extending, it became more and more difficult to feed my family.

I was not alone. There were about 300 families in my area who were struggling in the same situation. But thanks to your support, I was able to receive emergency food rations to help feed my family – 12kgs of rice, 2kgs of dal, one pack of salt, one litre of oil and even hand soap to help us stay safe from coronavirus.

I am thankful to your support and Baptist World Aid’s Christian partners for the timely supply of the food package.

You’re Helping Save Lives In Yemen

With your support, Baptist World Aid has recently been able to send urgently needed funds to our Christian partner on the ground in Yemen.

Yemen has been locked in civil conflict since 2015. The violence has greatly affected the Yemeni people, many of whom have been displaced, as well as the nation’s vital services such as healthcare. As you can imagine, this makes vulnerable Yemeni families especially at risk of coronavirus.

That’s why your generosity is now being used to provide greatly needed medicines and supplies (including personal protective equipment) to health facilities on the front line. Thank you!
