‘In our sufferings we have hope because we know that our suffering is brief and our blessings in heaven are eternal.’ – Nathan Sarker, TAI South Asia Lead

COVID-19 has put additional pressures on already vulnerable communities in Bangladesh:

  • Millions are being pushed back into poverty
  • Children have missed months of school and many aren’t returning
  • Child marriages are increasing
  • Families have lost important streams of income
  • Over 150 pastors have passed away from COVID-19 in the past 18 months

‘We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand – out in the wide-open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.’ – Romans 5:1-2 (MSG)

Please pray. . .

  • that God will prevent further spread of COVID-19
  • for the frontline workers in Bangladesh who work long hours with limited resources
  • for peace for those who lost their loved ones to COVID-19
  • for the government to make wise and courageous decisions
  • for encouragement of spirit for the church and pastors in Bangladesh
