Around 68 per cent of Bangladesh’s population live in rural areas, where life is challenging and villages are vulnerable to flooding, erosion and the impact of rising sea levels. Many communities lack basic services such as healthcare, schools and adequate roads. Families often struggle to meet their needs, let alone build a better future for their children.

By supporting the work of our local Christian Partners, you’ll help communities in Bangladesh implement long-term solutions to poverty, such as:

• Child and Youth Clubs – programs where children and young people gain the skills and confidence they need to thrive.
• Self Help Groups – community-led groups where members work together to address problems like child marriage, domestic violence, and accessibility for people with disabilities.
• Livelihood training – helping farmers improve their agriculture practices and access markets, so they can better provide for their families.
• Disaster preparedness – improving a community’s resilience to future disasters through training and risk management planning.
• Healthcare support – training volunteers, providing services, and helping communities improve hygiene and protect themselves from disease.
