YOUR FAITH IN ACTION

The Church: God’s Answer to a World in Need

Around the world, 826 million people live in extreme poverty. That’s one in ten people who must devote all their resources to survival, making it impossible to build a better future for themselves or their children.

By putting your faith in action and supporting the work of our local Christian Partners, you’ll be part of seeing God at work in more than 18 countries—places where hunger, poverty and disaster hit people the hardest.

Together with your church, you’ll help fund:

  • Child and Youth Clubs – programs where children and young people reduce their risk of exploitation and child marriage, and gain the life skills and confidence they need to build a better future.
  • Self Help Groups – community-led groups where members work together to address community issues such as domestic violence and access to clean water.
  • Livelihood Training – programs that help people establish small businesses such as farming, so they can better provide for their families and invest in their community.
  • Disaster Preparedness – programs that help communities increase their resilience to disasters such as floods, earthquakes and conflicts, so they have a better chance of survival.
  • Healthcare Support – our Partners train volunteers, provide services, and help communities protect themselves from diseases like malaria.

Through the work of our local Christian Partners, your gift will make the biggest impact possible and help create long-term change for a better world.

Prayer Points

Pray for our Partners’ work

Please join us in prayer for our local Christian Partners and the communities they serve.

  • Lord, help children and young people grow in confidence, skills, and hope for their future. Please continue to guide them as they advocate for their rights and help shape their communities for the better.
  • Father, please empower communities to work together to overcome injustice and care for the vulnerable. Help them implement solutions that lift everyone up, creating a better environment in which to live.
  • Father God, we ask that you meet the needs of families living in poverty. Please provide them with sustainable livelihoods and opportunities to thrive.
  • Lord, strengthen communities with resilience, wisdom, and protection in times of disaster. Please take care of those who are vulnerable when a crisis strikes.
  • Lord, equip healthcare workers and volunteers to care for those who are vulnerable, and help families keep themselves safe from disease.
  • God of compassion, please help the Australian church follow in your footsteps by showing love to our neighbours—both near and far. Help us to be generous with what we have, and give to help communities break the cycle of poverty.
