One in five people in Nepal live below the poverty line, many of them from rural areas where there is limited access to clean water, healthcare and education. Women, children, and people with disabilities and from marginalised social castes often face barriers that stop them from taking part in community life, leaving them isolated and without support.

Through the work of our local Christian Partners, you’ll help communities in Nepal implement long-term solutions to poverty, such as:

• Child and Youth Clubs – programs where children and young people gain the skills and confidence they need to build a better future.
• Self Help Groups – community-led groups where members work together to address problems like child marriage, domestic violence, and accessibility for people with disabilities.
• Livelihood training – helping people establish small businesses, improve their agriculture production and gain better access to markets, so they can provide for their families.
• Disaster preparedness – improving a community’s resilience to future disasters through training and risk management planning.
• Healthcare support – helping people gain skills to prevent malnutrition (for example, supporting mothers to eat well and feed their babies, so both can thrive).
