CAMINO DAY TWELVE
Belorado to San Juan de Ortiga 25km
Adjusted actual 26.7km
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
This was our verse for the morning and it guided our path all day.
We left walking in the rain (but thankful it was a light drizzle) and walked for a couple of hours until the sun shone through (yay). Pressed on continuously today with only a 15 minute stop for lunch as we did not have a booking for the night and there is one Albergue in San Juan! We got here 10 minutes after it opened and had the pick of the beds…check out the pic!!! Yikes. It might be a noisey night (but we are thankful for a dry warm bed). Its a beautiful old monastery and quite picturesque.
Highlights: Gorgeous scenery all day…vineyards, wheat fields, little forests, massive mountain to climb (but grateful our climbing legs are well and truly working) and time together walking at a cracking pace. Best walking day for me yet (Thanks for prayers everyone), and a corner bed in our dorm (just a tad of privacy). There is a mass here tonight and a pilgrims meal to follow…should be fun.
We walked fast today as we had a goal to get a bed! We often find that we can press through in a greater way when we are purposeful. Life is lived well that way.
Rain gently fell on us for hours! In life the replenishing touch of God in our lives needs to be constant as well.
There are 24 beds in our one room tonight. In life…ahmmm…..I GOT NOTHING FOR THIS ONE!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS???
Thanks for walking with us. It makes all the difference knowing we do not do this alone.
