Timing is crucial when it comes to addressing the global challenges that lead to poverty.
Asha lives in a village in Kenya, and she’s a single mum of three young children.
Drought wiped out her small herd of animals and sent food prices skyrocketing, making it extremely difficult to feed her family. Her children went hungry—especially her youngest, a three-year-old son who began showing signs of malnutrition.
‘Sometimes getting one week of food was difficult,’ Asha said.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, our Partner provided a month’s supply of nutritious food—enough to feed her family and to help her son regain his health.
Now Asha’s son is no longer malnourished, her children have enough to eat, and Asha is being trained in agriculture, so she can expand her income to secure her family’s future.
But the need is still enormous.
Extreme poverty means millions of people struggle to feed their children, let alone build a better future from themselves.
The UN reports that 1 in 10 women live in extreme poverty, as well as over 330 million children.
When you give to Where It’s Needed Most, your gift goes to people with immediate needs—to communities where hunger, poverty and disaster hit people the hardest.
This might be…
- Providing a mum with livelihood training so she can keep her children in school and put food on the table,
- Helping a family access healthcare services so they can stay healthy and strong, or
- Supporting a community as they build stronger homes to survive a cyclone.
Through the work of our local Christian Partners, your gift will make the biggest impact possible and help create long-term change for a better world.
