Conflict, COVID, climate and environmental crises, and economic downturn have created a perfect storm, leaving between 702 and 828 million people hungry in 2021—around 60 per cent of chronically hungry people are women and girls. The World Food Programme’s Global Report on Food Crises says the number of people facing hunger has now surpassed all records. And this means families in the Horn of Africa are without food for a day, or days at a time.

I WANT TO HELP

A lack of nourishing food contributes to nearly half of all preventable deaths among children under five, with 200 million children under five malnourished worldwide. In fact, every 11 seconds—about the time it takes to grab a jar of pasta sauce from the supermarket shelf—a child dies from malnutrition.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Help prevent unnecessary deaths and chronic hunger. Will you make a life-saving donation today?

GIVE NOW

A donation today means you can help us reach 27,000 people in Kenya. Your gift can provide:

  • Vouchers and cash grants for families to trade for food, seeds, livestock and other daily supplies.
  • Emergency food rations to help make sure children and other vulnerable people, including pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, don’t die of malnutrition.
  • Communities with support to keep local water sources full and livestock alive.
  • Drought-affected farmers with training in innovative techniques that will help them feed their families—now and into the future.

In Matthew 25:35-37, Jesus proclaims, ‘I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.”

Here, Jesus links feeding the hungry to ministering to himself. Caring for vulnerable, hungry people is not only following Jesus’ lead, it’s akin to caring for Jesus. This is why we’re asking you to make a life-saving donation today. Give and help feed 27,000 people in Kenya. Thank you for your generosity.
