No One Should Have To See Their Children Go Hungry

Nouy and Buon started married life together as subsistence farmers. But when their three boys were born, their farm couldn’t keep up, and their fight with hunger began. With little education making an income locally was difficult, so Nouy travelled away to work as a cleaner and labourer just to keep food on the table.

Giving Day is about coming together as a community to support families like Nouy and Buon’s. Some generous donors have created a Matching Fund of $120,000 so your Giving Day gift on 25 March can be DOUBLED to have a bigger impact on poverty. Will you give today, so that more families can go from hunger to hope?

I’LL GIVE NOW!

Further trouble came when Nouy became sick with tuberculosis. He survived, but the family lost essential income, and had to depend on what they could grow. With only traditional farming methods, water shortages, and limited ability to invest in their farm, they faced long periods of food shortages. It meant more hunger.

‘In my household, food shortage took place once my husband got sick, and everyone in the community was aware that he could not make or generate more income or do the heavy things in order to support our family,’ said Buon. ‘That period of time was really a challenge for my family.

Together this Giving Day, we can make a difference for families living with poverty. Could you make a contribution—on our first ever giving day—towards an end to hunger and poverty? Your gift will be DOUBLED to make an even bigger impact!

PLEASE DOUBLE MY GIFT TODAY

From Hunger To Hope

For Buon and Nouy, hope looked like training in agricultural methods and learning how to get the most out of their land, diversify their income and manage a business. Now they’re generously helping their neighbours and investing in their sons’ education.

You can be part of transforming communities from hunger to hope with a gift today. Let’s join together for one day of generous giving—doubled through funds provided by other generous supporters—and see lives changed for the better.
