As you begin to pray, try to calm yourself, relax your body and take deep breaths. Remind yourself that you are in the presence of God Most High.

Pause for a minute to be grateful for what God has done in your life. It may be God’s provision, close relationships, your wider community, your gifts and abilities, or your work or study.

Spend the next few moments reading and re-reading this verse. Meditate on the verse. Is God encouraging you or challenging you in a specific way?

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” – Matthew 7:7.

Now, look back over your day and, as you do, ask God to show you the help that He provided you. Was it encouragement, direction, wisdom, understanding, a reminder to pray or a feeling of His presence? Thank God for His loving care.

Reflect on your day again and ask God to reveal a moment where you needed His help. Did you need courage, peace, patience, strength, or wisdom? Or was it something else? Be still and listen for a prompt from God.

If you accepted this help from God tomorrow, how would your day be different? How would you face challenges? How might conversations change? Ask God to bless you with this specific help.

Thank God for His faithfulness; that when you pray in accordance to His will, He will give you what you ask. Tell God you commit to being the kind of person He is calling you to be.
