Ask God to be the leader of your prayer time, to guide your thoughts and to show you His perspective.

God is always with us. Remember His promise to never leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) and thank God for His presence in this moment.

Spend a few moments reading and re-reading this verse. What is your response?

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” – Psalm 139:7.

Take time now to reflect on every hour of your day, looking for the single most important moment in each. From waking, begin with your first hour, then use your imagination to picture each hour that followed for the rest of the day. As you think about this, pass quickly over the small moments and take note of the important ones.

Express your thanks, to God. Thank Him for the gifts that He gave you throughout your day. As you thought through each hour of your day, did you notice any surprising moments of help or encouragement from God? Thank Him for these.

In your review of your day, what difficulties or missed opportunities do you remember? Can you see any moments when you didn’t act as the person God calls you to be? Are there moments for which you need to seek God’s healing or forgiveness? Know that God hears you and that He is gracious.

Ask God if there is anything that He would have you do in response to your reflections. Is it thanking someone, encouraging a friend or workmate, or mending a relationship? Is there anything God is challenging you to do now, or any new way He wants you to live your life tomorrow?
